The British Royal family are traditionalists at heart when it comes to fashion.
Steady as she goes is their watchword and they love nothing more than a heritage name and a heritage style. Clothes often look timeless or dating from the 1950’s.

For little girls this means smocked dresses, peter pan collars and pastel cardigans with a good wool coat or raincoat and worn with single bar strap traditional leather shoes.

For boys classic tailoring with shorts worn for daywear until birthdays are well into double figures. No doubt the freshest Royal baby on the block Archie is going to be a bit of a style leader now his parents are Los Angeles based compared to his cousins back home!

Charlotte
Charlotte - the only girl
Princess Charlotte of Cambridge who is 5 years old For Princess Charlotte I have chosen classic dresses for her summer wardrobe with a small floral print in the style of Liberty, a simple tailored shift dress and a classic navy playsuit for more active days. A classic red raincoat for that dreadful British weather and a beautiful tailored party dress worn with the eve present tiara. These are accessorised with a classic leather bar strap shoe and just so she has a little fun a glitter classic mini handbag.

George and Louis - more classic
Prince George of Cambridge who is 7 years old and his little brother Prince Louis who is nearly 2 and a half British Royal style for young boys is so classic and timeless that the family is probably one of the best hand me down wardrobes in the kingdom! Boys will be wearing short shorts until they are at least 11 if not longer and sweaters are classic or military in style whilst suits are worn for best. Oh and nightwear is classic too. Taste is to blend in not stand out.

Archie
Archie - more gritty
Archie Mountbatten-Windsor is now 15 months so is in true toddler territory but with his parents at home in Los Angeles his needs will not be for such a formal wardrobe as his cousins. However I’m sure they will not want to start too far from the style his father is accustomed to but perhaps their own ethical shopping tastes and desires and relaxed lifestyle will shape his wardrobe more.
