The vintage touch
Instagram: @_rossella.b @poldodogcouture

Rossella is a visual and window designer at Moncler and now a new mother: Romeo was born last July. With her husband Riccardo and a partner, she created Poldo Dog Couture, a whole fashion collection of dogs accessories, with a charity side. She lives between Milan and Lake Iseo with two dachshunds
Did Romeo's arrival change your habits, your style?
I like fashion, but I would not call myself a fashion victim. I have always focused on iconic pieces that last over time, 'substantial' items and not too flashy, unlike Ricky, my husband, who loves to be playful and prefers an extravagant style. I love vintage garments and now, during and after lockdown, this passion for mixing pieces is more and more present.

And for Romeo?
My brother jokingly calls him 'the neutral child' because I tend to dress him in light, calming colors, avoiding blues, etc. I would say it is a Belgian-French style. I love gray, for example, and I don't disdain it for him either. I choose wool garments that remind me of layette and hand-made pieces, care and love; in short, I add a vintage touch for him too. As for shoes (read: also socks), he has more than me. At twenty months, he will already have twenty pairs. I better not say how many shoes I have, I keep them all wrapped in fabric bags and boxes, it's a sort of devotion.

How do you shop for him and yourself?
Online, I buy almost everything online from the comfort of my home. Especially now that I spend more time there for work and because I like it. I am not a loner, but I am selective about my time out, unlike Ricky, who is decidedly more social. I get inspired and informed on Instagram. For example, I follow leiafez and luciazolea.

And when you go out?
Stroller and Poldo and Arlecchino on a leash. For the occasion, Romeo has special pieces such as the dungarees featuring his name, a beloved gift from DSquared2.
