Helena Schütz is a freelance photographer and art director, whose Instagram feed at @thejnr is a continuous inspiration. She works primarily with kids and lifestyle brands, but also food, travel, and deco. Helena lives in Copenhagen with her two sweet children and husband.

What fashion trends do you like for this season?
I don’t follow trends, but I do love everything oversized and 80’s, so I got my fix this sea-son.

Which children’s fashion brands have inspired you lately?
I’m always inspired by Spanish kids’ brands, Fish&Kids. Pilar Picazo, the designer, is so cre-ative with silhouettes and fabrics. I love it! Also, The Animal Observatory, Bellerose, and Bobo Choses.
I’m also a big fan of Repose AMS and Hundredpieces.

What have you been watching/reading/listening to?
Watching? My kids occupy the TV with PS4… But when they are in bed: if I had a rough day, we watch Friends. If it has been a terrible day, we turn to The Sopranos. Preferably with a glass of wine in hand.

I am currently reading Swing Time by Zadie Smith.

If I’m working from home, I love to listen to “How I Built This” from NPR. It inspires me so much!

What do your children prefer to wear?
Comfortable and playful clothes. It has always been like this, even now that my kids are 7 and 10 years old. But I can, of course, also see that my oldest girl (10 years old) wants to dress more “cool” than “sweet”. Those pink years are long gone…

Tell us about something fun you did with your family recently.
On the weekends, we love to make banana pancakes together, and we eat them while playing a UNO (how great is UNO?). That’s something that everyone loves!

What are you really looking forward to?
I just can’t wait for all the projects that I have done this spring to launch, haha! And I’m so excited about fall and everything that it will bring.
