Brand Profile
VÉLOCIPÈDE is a New York-based sustainable childrenswear brand founded by Vitaliy Bukhtulov, father to four-year-old Aleksei. Inspired by his own childhood memories of Eastern Europe, his vivacious son, and a deep appreciation for art and design, Vitaliy set out to create a children’s fashion house that seamlessly fused the nostalgia and luxury of the past with a contemporary, effortless spirit aimed at fostering a more sustainable future.
Named after the ancestor of the modern bicycle, VÉLOCIPÈDE seeks to capture the exhilarating sense of independence and exploration children feel when riding a bike.
With sustainability at its core, the brand emphasizes circularity by using premium deadstock fabrics to craft limited-edition pieces expertly made in Portugal. By exploring the intersections of art and fashion, whimsy and heritage, VÉLOCIPÈDE offers elegant yet functional clothing designed to inspire children to dream and discover.
The brand proudly collaborates with Florence Blall, a Lyon-based designer, fashion lecturer, and sustainability expert dedicated to reimagining traditional fashion practices and driving the industry toward a more responsible future.
