Péro means ‘to wear’ in Marwari which is the local language of Rajasthan, a state in northwest of India. Péro interprets international aesthetic using local material and skills, taking inspiration from what surrounds us, to make a product that connects with people, wherever in the world it is placed. The indianess of Péro rests in the textile process, where materials pass through the hands of one craftsperson to the other, carrying forward the Indian tradition of the hand made, and creating pieces that are at once unique. Chota péro' is a line of kids wear; the word ‘chota‘ being a Hindi word for ‘small’. The clothes for kids are especially created for the mothers who look for comfortable yet playful clothing for their children. The label is launched by Aneeth Arora, a textile graduate from National Institute of Design, Ahmadabad and a fashion graduate from National Institute of Fashion Technology. She calls herself a ’textile and dress maker’. The local people fascinate and inspire her the most. Their clothing and dressing styles make them so effortlessly stylish and trendy, therefore making them real trend setters of the time.
