Mini-la Mode’s timelessly classic Award-Winning Baby and Childrenswear features hand-smocking and beautiful character embroidery, on the softest of fabrics. Only the highest grade of 100% Pima cotton is used, being OekoTex certified for its premium quality. 

Pima, often called the ‘cashmere of cotton’, with its natural fibres being luxuriously soft and breathable, is ideal for delicate newborn skin. While the vast majority of cotton harvesting worldwide is done by machine, our Pima cotton is hand-picked, producing longer fibres, resulting in an unrivalled soft and silky fabric. It is grown in the Pima region of Peru on traditional family operated farms, using ancient, sustainable, eco-friendly, organic farming methods that have remained unchanged for hundreds of years, vastly reducing the environmental impact of cotton production.  

Every step of making of Mini-la-Mode’s special babywear and luxury childrens pyjamas incorporates Sustainable, Eco-Ethic and Fair-Trade practices. All garments are hand-made by skilled artisans in Peru, mostly women, enabling those with young children to work from home and earn an income of their own. This can be a lifeline to such families, often living in socially deprived inner-city areas, especially during these pandemic times. 

Through the most exquisite hand-embroidery, these talented artisans bring to life classic patterns and adorable characters, including everyone’s favourite Mini-la-Mode collection, Peter Rabbit™ & Friends. Produced under licence from Penguin, these iconic characters, made famous through Beatrix Potter’s Tales, are faithfully embroidered from the charming illustrations which were once a happy part of so many of our childhoods.

We feel our classical, traditional babywear does not date, and we aim to design and create affordable, high quality heirloom pieces which can be treasured and passed down through generations.
