Alice Cheron from @alidifirenze is the founder of the Fugues Italiennes and a platform on the “Italian Joie de Vivre!” at www.alidifirenze.fr. Here is a glimpse of what her confinement in a house in southern Florence, in Tuscany, looks like.

Have you set up a special routine, for this period of time?

With children (3 and 4 years old), it's imperative to create a structure. There is a time for school, a time for manual work (where I have as much fun as they do), a time for being alone to stimulate the imagination. We create a schedule that we can forget on weekends, with movie night and pancakes!

Do you have any tips to keep the spirits high, at the moment?

Set up appointments. My Italian mother-in-law calls the children at 4:30 p.m. every day to tell them a story. I like to make time for small pleasures during the day (a coffee, a nap, a risotto, a perfect spritz). I also created a collaborative playlist called "Italian Joie de Vivre" with my readers, more than 13h of Italian music!

Do you or your children have a favorite outfit for this time at home?

It’s a colorful sweater for a radiant glow and my Venitian “furlane” slippers to stay chic at home. For the children, we count on "comfort + costumes". They are always wearing costumes…

Is there anything positive you get from this situation?

The attention towards others, close or unknown, the importance of the word "Today", the time spent with my children without being under stress (in the end, all my projects are on hold, I just have to come to terms with it), a feeling of forced emptiness which sets the record straight, a little.

What's the first thing you want to do, after this confinement?

I struggle to think about the aftermath, everything is uncertain so I don't waste a moment. Of course, I would like to see my sister and my parents who are in Nice, and I dream of hearing the waves.

Do you have any nice Instagram accounts to share, to keep the children busy?

In the morning, I look at what @Milk_magazine has posted as the idea of the day for children, and I redo it by myself with what I have in the cupboards.

And the ones that are helping you?

The only thing I really do for myself is 3 hours of yoga on Zoom per week with my teacher Shari from @SoleYogaHolidays (amazing yoga retreats, I plan to go to one again in Positano this summer).
